Welcome to First Grade!

I would like to remind first grade parents that students should complete their homework on a nightly basis. It should be done in their best handwriting. Work that is not of first grade quality will be sent home to be redone.

A great way to practice spelling words is to have students write them out on paper, a chalkboard, or whiteboard. Because spelling tests are not taken orally, just spelling the words out loud is not enough practice.

Thanks to all the parents that helped set out a special Halloween snack. The cupcakes and decorations were AWESOME!

As always there is a spelling test on Friday.

Reminders:
Parent volunteers for lunch duty or library should check into the office and receive a visitors pass first. Please remember that lunch yard duty is very important, and parents should be constantly moving about the play area observing all students.

A reminder that next week is conference week. Please be sure to check you scheduled conference time. If there is a problem with your scheduled time please call the office and Mrs. Kelly will help you reschedule the conference. First graders ARE supposed to be present at the conference.
