Kindergarten

The Kindergarten is writing letters and numbers on the computer. They are writing letters in lower case and starting to use shift-letter to type in upper case. The students are exploring shift-number to type the "pictures" on the number keys. The students are typing words they are learning in the Language Arts.

First Grade

The First Grade are learning to use a word processor. In the last assignment, the First Grade wrote beautiful sentences on Martin Luther King, Jr. They wrote how important and interesting he is to them and to all of us. The next assignment will be on Lent.

The First Grade will learning how to use the internet as a research tool. The First Grade will studying the animals in the Asian Rain Forest. They will start looking for certain animals using the yahooligan site and or some of the sites listed below. (http://www.yahooligan.com)

Second Grade

In Second Grade learning to write letters, poems, cards, and reports on the word processing. They are using the different forms and illustrating the written work. The students will use the internet to do research on the different countries and the people and traditions in that country.

Fifth Grade

The Fifth Grade will study the Outer Space in the near future. The students are doing a research project in the computer class looking for internet sites on space, the Universe, the galaxy, the Solar System, and the planets. They are going to help each other by creating a master list of these sites. The students will then use this list when the class starts the Space Unit in the Science book.
