Educational Philosophy

St. Raymond School guided by our mission and educational philosophy offers an academic program that is both a traditional and transformative learning experience grounded in our Catholic faith.

St. Raymond is a TK-8 school rooted in the Catholic tradition and committed to providing a solid academic curriculum that empowers our students with 21st century skills. Empowered with a curriculum guided by our mission and educational philosophy, we believe in educating the whole person and seek to support the development of students intellectually, spiritually, socially, and physically. Students learn to think critically and act compassionately, ready to meet the challenges they will face in future.

St. Raymond School provides an academic program that challenges students at all levels of learning. We believe learning is collaborative rather than a competitive exercise and challenge our students to acknowledge their strengths and weaknesses constructively through intentional spiritual, academic, service, athletic, and social experiences. We believe it is essential to foster in our students a love of learning-- to instill in our students the curiosity and confidence to always ask, ponder, and investigate the unknown in order to propose, devise, and enact solutions establishing a more just society united in our Catholic values

The faculty works together as a team to ensure a seamless academic transition between each grade for students-- to challenge, support, excite and engage our students to pursue academic excellence, develop deep curiosity, and love learning. The curriculum is mapped backwards from elite high school entrance requirements to the junior kindergarten level in order to pace academic curriculum and instruction to maximize the academic experience for each child. Students are guided to reach their full potential through continual challenge and shared reflection in a supportive and empathic setting.

Faculty and parents partner to prepare inspired learners committed to seeing the dignity of every person through their own process of spiritual and personal growth. Together as a team, we to ensure a seamless academic transition between each grade for students. The curriculum is mapped backwards from elite high school entrance requirements to the junior kindergarten level in order to pace curriculum and instruction to maximize the academic experience for each child.

St. Raymond continuously reviews the curriculum in accordance with the Archdiocese of San Francisco guide and the California State Standards
