Learning Support
The Learning Support Program at St. Raymond School strives to provide academic support for students
who require learning accommodations due to learning differences.
The Learning Support Program recognizes that students at St. Raymond School may need some additional support to be successful and we endeavor to provide supportive instruction and opportunities that will enable all students to achieve academic success. Recognizing that each student develops and learns at their own pace and unique style, it is important that students acquire the academic skills and effective study strategies that best supports their individual learning needs to reach their academic potential and to support their academic and personal growth.
Partnering with students, teachers, and family members, the learning support program works to promote student self-esteem and a positive attitude toward learning providing support both within and outside of the classroom. A student action plan is structured from targeted benchmark assessments, academic screening tools, teacher observations, and parent input. It involves setting specific measurable, achievable, and relevant accommodations for the student and outlining the strategies to reach those goals.
*The homeroom teacher is the initial point of contact for any student’s involvement in the Learning Support Program.
