Position Title: Principal

Position Type: Full-time, exempt, benefited

Job Description: General Duties and Responsibilities - The principal provides leadership in the development and direction of an instructional program designed to achieve Archdiocesan and parish objectives. S/he is responsible for the complete operation of the school, including all its approved functions and services. Responsibilities include implementation of Archdiocesan and school advisory council policies


  1. Be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church
  2. Hold a valid California Standard Teaching Credential.
  3. Have a minimum of five years of experience in teaching and/or in administration with Catholic school experience
  4. Have attained one or both of the following: Masters degree in an educational field and/or an California administrative credential*
  5. Be certified as a catechist at the basic level**
  6. Have a deep commitment to the Catholic life of the school
  7. Have demonstrated expertise in the area of curriculum and technology in the classroom
  8. Be adept at inspiring teachers and galvanizing them around the pursuit of educational excellence.
  9. Have strong interpersonal skills and be adept at building and maintaining relationships   

*Principals who are not in possession of both educational qualifications, must complete the requirement within a three year period of time from the date of hire

** Principals who are not in possession of basic certification in religion, must have completed the   process before they start their position.

Establish a personnel file with the DCS (applicants with existing DCS personnel files are required to create a new file). Attend an introductory/prescreening interview with the Department of Catholic School’s Human Resources Manager

Completing the application process does not guarantee an interview for a principal position, nor does it assure hiring as a principal in the Archdiocese of San Francisco.


Salary is determined according to Archdiocesan guidelines and is based upon experience as a teacher or administrator and graduate education. Medical, dental and retirement are included as part of the benefit package.

Camp CARDINAL 2018

Camp CARDINAL 2018 flier | Online Registration

St. Raymond School will be hosting Camp Cardinal at St. Raymond School - 2018 Summer directed by our Athletic Director, Coach Harrison. At Camp Cardinal, JK-8th grade students will be actively engaged in a variety of rotating activity stations that change on a daily basis. On the last day of each weekly session, campers will participate in an All Camp Competition, where groups of campers will compete against each other in different events in an effort to earn the title of "champion"! Trained Camp Cardinal Counselors will facilitate a variety of activity stations include sports such as basketball, soccer, and flag football, field games such as capture the flag, arts and crafts, technology... and more! Campers will rotate through a variety of these stations daily so there will never be a dull moment. For more detailed information, please visit the CAMP CARDINAL website.

  • Weekly sessions begin 6/11 and end 7/13
  • Camp hours 9:00AM - 3:00PM with extended care from 3:00 - 5:00PM; lunch provided
  • Students may register for one or all sessions
  • Jr. Counselors in Training include all current St. Raymond 7-8 grade student

St. Raymond School considers its Community Service Learning Program an integral part of our educational philosophy and curriculum— to build “a community of faith dedicated to preparing and promoting successful students.” In partnership with the Mothers’ Club, faculty and staff, students and parents participate in a variety of service projects and activities. Through discussion, reflection and hands-on-experience students see that their time and effort benefits causes, agencies, and individuals in need. It is our hope that the experiences gained from service activities will inspire our children and families to take action that will make a lasting difference in our community.
